Biography
Kim S. Hunt
Executive Director

The District of Columbia Sentencing and Criminal Code Revision Commission appointed Kim S. Hunt as the Executive Director in May 1999. He brings over thirteen years of experience in the field of analysis and implementation of criminal sentencing policy, including successful sentencing reform efforts in Maryland and Virginia. While in Maryland and Virginia, he directed research studies in the areas of sentencing guidelines, intermediate sanctions, risk assessment, and the impact of sentencing policy on prison populations.

Dr. Hunt also supervised the day-to-day operations of the Virginia Sentencing Guidelines from 1991 to 1997. He is past Chair of the National Association of Sentencing Commission's Executive Committee.

Dr. Hunt received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Kansas in 1987.
